We are Family! |
What does being a Twister mean?
If I had one word to describe the Twister program it would have to be Family. I believe teamwork, confidence and dedication combined with spirit, dance and gymnastics, is the perfect beginning to our next exciting season. Being a Twister means being a part of a talented team, in a supportive atmosphere, while staying fit and having fun!!!

Marissa enjoys cheering for the Twisters, because she likes being with all her friends. For me it means FAMILY!!!! It's the best feeling when all the parents get together and root our girls on. Cheerleading is a sport that in my opinion encompasses the true meaning of a "team" sport. To see the girls work so hard, supporting one another, and the amazing feeling that they and we get when they bring it and hit the routine on the floor. Marissa loves it when they win, and the best part about winning for Marissa....the "Hoodies". She will wear it for DAYS!!! Being a twister means Family and Friendship; First Place isn't bad either. :)

Not only has Mackenzie learned the sport of cheering and what it takes to be a good athlete and competitor, but more importantly, as a Twister, she has learned what it takes to be a team player and that winning is not the most important result, but that giving 100% and doing your best are what matter most. Our girls are encouraged to continuously strive to improve and learn from their mistakes. The positive atmosphere and values learned are evident in their performances, as well as in the solidarity and friendship shared between the girls, coaches, and family members. This is what makes the Twisters unique. The Twisters are in every sense of the word a family and we are proud to be a part of that family.

In the 6 years that Mackenzie has been a Twister, the teamwork of the cheerleaders is what stands out to me. It is so rewarding to watch the girls overcome obstacles together and encourage and motivate each other. We have formed so many lasting friendships through the Twister organization. It is a wonderful feeling to come to a gym where you feel at home and that you really belong. The coaches sacrifice so much of their time and support our girls 100% and it is a great feeling to see that pay off when they hit the floor. We are so thankful to be a part of the Twister family!

What does being a Twister mean to me - It means Family!!! It means being a part of an extended family full of talented cheerleaders, wonderful parents, and amazing coaches. Not only has Cassidy and her friends grown as cheerleaders over the years, but they have formed a strong bond as a team both on and off the mat. The Twister parents have formed just as strong of a bond as the cheerleaders. We are there for the girls at practice and in the stands, encouraging them and cheering them on, each and every one of them, as if they were our own child. The girls have learned a lot from their talented coaches, who have taught them to push themselves to be the best that they can be and how to work together as a team. Cassidy has learned so much from her coaches and I am grateful for all the opportunities they have given her over the years. When I asked Cassidy what it meant to her to be a Twister, she said "This is the best year ever for me to be a Twister. I am on two teams this year and I have the best coaches ever." Being a part of the Twister Family is an amazing experience, one that I am grateful for being a part of, and one that I am grateful that Cassidy is a part of. She will carry this experience with her even long after she is done cheering. Once a Twister...Always a Twister!

When asked this question the first thing that comes to mind is “Family”. Everyone always says family but it is the absolute truth. Being part of the twister family has been something extraordinary for not only my daughter but also my family. Over the years I watched these girls perform, succeed, and conquer new skills and talents. It not only means being part of a team but also being known as an individual. The Twister gym has given the girls (and boy) a place they can be comfortable and know that they are cared about as individuals. We all are team members but I really feel that our coaches provide something special to each one of our kids. There are very few gyms that really ‘know” our kids and care about what happens to them in their daily lives outside of the gym. The spirit that everyone brings to practice, competitions, and outside activities is something that shows when these girls (and boy) hit the floor! No other gym around can compare or take away what the Twister Family has! We look forward to many coming years in watching the Twister Family continue to Succeed!

Being part of the “Twister Family” is commitment to time, family, friends, and our community. My family involves Melvin, Jeanie and of course the star “Armauni”. We’ve been a part of the twister family now for almost seven years as Armauni started when she was only 4, now 11. Throughout the years we’ve seen the twister family evolve into one great extended family. Many lasting friendships have bonded tightly throughout the years not only with the girls but also with the other parents. We’ve been through many triumphs and tribulations such as many awards, broken arms, sweat, tears, new friendships, and gym locations. Through it all, the twister family, stuck it out, hung together and became unified as one. Being part of such a great family makes you feel how lucky you are to be in one. Many memories will be long told even when Armauni is grown and have children of her own. She can look back and retell of her wonderful experiences she had with the Twister Family.
